Workers at the bottom of the pay scale are stirring a national debate about what fair compensation looks like, but it’s not just fast food workers. Professors and health care workers are also calling for higher wages. The “Fight for $15” campaign came to UNC and Shaw University Wednesday where hundreds gathered.
Activism for higher wages doesn’t just look like a rally. Here in Chapel Hill, managers and owners of two local restaurants are taking the initiative to pay their workers more.
