UNC loans money to preserve historic neighborhood

UNC is loaning $3 million to help preserve Northside, a historic neighborhood in Chapel Hill. Once home to many African-American UNC employees, the neighborhood is now made up of mostly student rentals.

The goal of the loan is to restore the neighborhood to the family-friendly community it once was.
