UNC scientists have made a breakthrough discovery about mucus and how it functions in the body. The research may help people with asthma, cystic fibrosis, and other diseases.

There’s a garden that’s growing just a few minutes walk from the edge of campus. It’s produced about 8,000 pounds in its two years of tending– UNC students volunteer their time to grow the vegetables and fruit, which is then given to UNC housekeepers twice a week.
