The UNC football program is still waiting to hear if it’s in more trouble. The NCAA has yet to announce what the program’s final punishment will be for the scandal under former coach Butch Davis. NCAA investigations that began in 2010 found some players cheated in classes and took gifts from agents.
In response to that and other college scandals, a group of UNC faculty members have been meeting to discuss how to keep the athletic program in line with the university’s core mission. They came up with a statement of principles that more than 100 faculty members have signed.
