This week marked the 233rd installment of the rivalry between U-N-C and Duke.
It’s one that’s been especially contentious lately. Over the previous 75 contests before this week, North Carolina has won 38 games compared to Duke’s 37. The margin of victory has been just as close. Over that same span, Duke had outscored U-N-C by a total of one point.
Wednesday night’s game was exactly that close. But unfortunately for the Tar Heels, now the Blue Devils are up two.
Austin Rivers’ last-second three-pointer — literally, he released the ball with one second left on the clock — gave Duke a one point victory in the Dean Dome.
John Caison caught up with Carolina walk-on Stewart Cooper to take a look at the game from the perspective of UNC’s bench.
