The myth of the “freshman fifteen”

Back in 1989, Seventeen Magazine coined a term. That term was the “Freshmen Fifteen.” The idea that freshmen will come home from their first year of college 15 pounds heavier … that the late-night snacking and partying will get the best of their diet habits. But according to a new Ohio State University study, it’s a term that carries much more fiction than fact.
