An Orange County jury is deliberating whether former U-N-C student Chandler Kania is guilty of second-degree murder, after a crash on Interstate 85 that killed three people last year.
At his trial, prosecutors read texts in which Kania said he ‘loved driving high’ — or as he called it, “blunt riding.” Prosecutors said the texts demonstrate Kania willfully disregarded the law to cause harm.
The case has brought more attention to the popularity of “blunt riding,” which experts say is common … and dangerous. Jessa O’Connor reports.
