One of the biggest historic controversies on campus concerns landmarks. UNC leaders are hoping some plaques and exhibits will help. They unveiled a plan at this week’s Board of Trustees meeting to hang a plaque on Carolina Hall, a building formerly named after Ku Klux Klan leader William Saunders, and are looking at possible historic markers and other exhibits on McCorkle Place, where Silent Sam is.
