Grief, fear, isolation: Students feel ongoing effects from the Israel-Hamas war

Israel renewed its assault on the Gaza Strip Friday after the end of a weeklong truce with Hamas. Since the Hamas attack on Israel October 7, the conflict has distressed UNC students who are close to it. They are simultaneously wrestling with the grief caused by war, and the fear caused by rising Islamophobia and antisemitism.
