Education Dept. cites UNC for undercounting crimes, mishandling sexual assault cases

The U.S. Department of Education announced this week it had found UNC in violation of the Clery Act, which requires universities to disclose information about campus crimes.

Following a six year investigation, the department cited multiple violations in UNC’s reporting, including in cases of sexual assault.
