In this episode of the Carolina Connection Podcast, we look back through our coverage of Silent Sam, the Confederate monument that inhabited McCorkle place for over a hundred years. The debate around the statue is complicated and so was the UNC administration’s response after its toppling. Though the statue is physically gone from McCorkle Place, it is still present in the minds of UNC’s leaders, especially as the University looks for a new chancellor.
