NCAA and ACC pull championships from North Carolina over HB2

House Bill 2 continues to be the subject of controversy in North Carolina. The law strikes down local non-discrimination ordinances and has been cited by countless businesses as a reason to avoid the state.

Now, even the NCAA and the ACC are avoiding the state as well. Monday,the NCAA announced that it would remove its neutral-site championship games scheduled to be played in North Carolina this school year. The ACC followed suit Wednesday afternoon. Reaction from people across the state quickly followed those decisions, including some UNC students who hope to play in those championship games.
