One student opens up about opioid addiction

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say 78 Americans die every day from opioid overdoses. Millions more are addicted.

Now, we introduce you to Michael, a 23-year-old UNC student whose prescription opioid usage led to a nearly fatal heroin addiction. He’s asked for his last name to be withheld because he doesn’t want potential employers to know about his drug use.
