Edit-a-thon increases diversity of Wikipedia articles

Remember when your high school teacher wouldn’t let you cite Wikipedia as a credible source on your term paper? That’s because it’s so easy to edit Wikipedia for serious or not-so-serious motives. In fact, one UNC student jokingly changed Ted Cruz’ name to Grayson Allen on the presidential candidate’s page a few months ago. If you haven’t seen the internet meme, they look alike.

But some UNC students are using their editing skills for more than just humor.
