Fourteen years ago, the country and the world stood still.

The twin towers of the World Trade Center fell. Two thousand nine hundred and seventy seven lives in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington were taken too soon. The world has never been the same.

Nearly a decade and a half later, UNC remembered those lost with a display of nearly three thousand American flags in front of Wilson Library. That’s where our Caitlin Wall found three UNC students from New York City. Their stories are powerful reminders that September 11, 2001 will never be forgotten.
