UNC-Chapel Hill’s Confederate monument, Silent Sam, was not only silent, but also blind Wednesday morning.  Someone blindfolded the statue with a Confederate flag. This is the third time Silent Sam has been the target of vandalism since July, heating up discussion about how the University recognizes its past.

Last week, Chancellor Carol Folt announced the creation of a task force on UNC’s history to address the topic.
