It looks like the Varsity Theatre will continue to show popular movies on Franklin Street. Since the landmark theater launched its ‘Go digital or go dark’ campaign in mid-December, it raised $50,000. The money will go towards a digital projector. Without it, the theater would have been forced to close. But as Jimmy Wylie reports, the community wasn’t about to let the theatre lose its light.
This guy has a great radio voice! Love this story!
Heard he has a great face for radio as well. Love to hear about these old theaters keeping their place in the community! Excellent spot, hope it helps the cause!
That reporter really brought the story to life! Glad the fundraising is helping the Varsity theater.
