Media sues UNC for names of employees disciplined in scandal

by Rene Gupta

About a month after the release of the Wainstein report, UNC is facing more backlash. Ten media organizations are suing the university for withholding the names of the nine employees who were disciplined or fired for their involvement in the academic fraud scandal. They also want information on the other employees named in the report.

The media organizations claim the names are public information, but the university has refused to disclose them and filed a motion to dismiss the complaint yesterday.
