UNC accreditation up in the air

by Louis Fernandez

This weekend, University officials are waiting to receive word from the Southern Associations of Colleges and Schools, the organization that accredits UNC.  The SACS announced it had completed its review of the Wainstein report and sent a letter to the University.

The Association won’t comment on what the contents of the letter are, but the letter is expected to arrive in the mail sometime early in the week.

Worst case scenario: UNC could lose its accreditation and millions of dollars in federal funds.
