by Andrew Tie

John Strader, a physician assistant in the UNC Cancer Hospital, retired yesterday. The 61 year old won’t be moving to Florida or some tropical island. Instead, he will leave in a month for Liberia. Strader plans on helping out with the Ebola breakout in the West African country. He plans on teaming with different UNC and Duke projects to help those who have been affected by the deadly disease.

Strader joined us to talk about his decision.
