Gov. Pat McCrory says his administration will begin implementing the state’s new same-sex marriage law “in a professional and respectful way.” Friday, a federal judge cleared the way for same-sex marriages in North Carolina, striking down the state’s 2012 ban.
McCrory supported the ban, but says he’s obligated to carry out state and federal law.
McCrory made his comments in Chapel Hill Sunday before appearing at UNC’s University Day ceremony. He spoke with Carolina Connection’s Louis Fernandez.
