Pope wants UNC to pare budget

The UNC system and the governor’s office aren’t always on the same page—especially when it comes to the budget.Their latest dispute came this month when the state budget director rejected the UNC system’s budget proposal for the fiscal year that starts in July. He called it “not realistic.”

Now they’re trying to find some common ground.
