Runners go for the ‘glazed’ in charity race

While thousands of athletes in Sochi’s Winter Olympics go for Gold, thousands of runners in Raleigh this morning will go for “glazed.”

The Krispy Kreme challenge is underway near the campus of N.C. State. Each year, runners from all over the state and beyond gather to run two-and-a-half miles, eat a dozen doughnuts, then run two-and-a-half miles back.

One of these doughnut dashers is our own Daniel Lane, who joins us now live over the phone.
