Unusual tree celebrates UNC’s arboreous history

Not many people know about persimmons. They’re a small fruit, similar in taste and look to an apricot or peach. Persimmon trees generally make fruit in the fall, and right now, students can try some on UNC’s Polk Place thanks to the university arborist.
