A bill introduced in the U.S. Senate this week would ban the sale and manufacture of more than 150 types of semi-automatic weapons and clips holding more than ten rounds of ammunition. The legislation comes six weeks after the Sandy Hook shooting and reflects one of the proposals outlined in President Obama’s proposal to address gun violence.
The proposed regulations are controversial at UNC, where some students support gun control, but others want to be able to carry weapons on campus.
