UNC tuition on the rise again

By Ashley Fernandez

The cost of a UNC education is rising.

The Board of Trustees last month agreed to raise tuition for out-of-state undergraduates and all graduate students about six percent. Earlier this fall, the Board raised in-state undergraduate tuition $600.

University officials say the increases are necessary because of big state budget cuts, but the higher price tag will affect some students’ ability to make ends meet.
