UNC played key role in training WWII troops

Veterans Day honors men and women who served in the armed forces. Nowadays, foreign wars, like the current one in Afghanistan, don’t have much of a visible effect on the homefront. But that wasn’t the case during World War II, when the war effort transformed UNC’s campus.
