Pill could treat radiation poisoning

A research group based at UNC is developing a pill to protect people from radiation. The federal government gave G-Zero Therapeutics a three million dollar grant last month to speed up the pill’s development. The company got the government’s attention because the drug may help cancer patients and even survivors of nuclear disasters.
