Social media and the 1st amendment

Social media played a big role in protests like occupy Wall Street. – more people are using technology to connect, share a secret, or vent a fear. A new study from the James L. Knight Foundation suggests that the more students tweet, blog or use Facebook, the more they value free speech. But that’s not necessary the case on UNC’s campus.

“Speaking of the First Amendment” is a collaborative project between Carolina Connection, UNC’s student TV newscast, Carolina Week, and its online news site Reese News.
