One effect of UNC’s budget cuts isn’t as obvious to students and faculty, but it will force a group of UNC staff members to change their lifestyles.
About 70 building maintenance employees are losing the option of working a flexible schedule. UNC says putting everyone on a standard schedule will make building maintenance more efficient.
But many of the workers are against the change, which they say will keep them – and the university – from getting as much done.
