New academic standards for Greek system

In the university’s most recent step in reevaluating its relationship with the Greek system, UNC officials this week imposed tougher standards on fraternities and sororities.

The Greek system has come under scrutiny in the past few years for alleged rush violations, alcohol use and other misconduct.  Now officials plan to sanction Greek organizations whose members don’t maintain decent grades.
