Polk Place, UNC’s main quad, is still covered in the remnants of yesterday’s madness, an event called Holi Moli. Hundreds of students swarmed the lawn wearing white shirts and holding packets of brightly colored powder. But they weren’t just there to blow off mid-semester steam; they were celebrating the coming of spring. It’s the Hindu holiday called Holi, the festival of color.
This year marks the third anniversary of the event sponsored by Sungum, Campus Y, Student Government and Hindu You-va. And in just three years, Holi Moli has made it to number 13 on the official campus bucket list.
