Chapel Hill rally protests threats to university research and academic freedom

Indivisible Orange County, an activist group that resists the Trump Administration, hosted a rally on Franklin Street Friday.

About 25 people criticized both the Trump Administration  – and UNC leaders. Speakers said the university isn’t standing up for academic values.

Speakers called for the community to stick together – and advocate for such things as a reinstatement of the millions of dollars in research funds that UNC lost because of cuts from the Trump Administration.
