An NC city’s Bigfoot festival attracts believers and skeptics of the legendary beast

Now a story about one of the most enduring urban legends, and its believers.

While there is no scientific evidence that the legendary creature Bigfoot actually exists, thousands still gather every year in the North Carolina mountains for the annual Bigfoot Festival. The event takes place in Marion, a small city closely tied to cryptid research, the study of hidden or unproven animals, and the headquarters of the Bigfoot 911 group.
