State Republican leaders attack LGBTQ+ themed library books in Chapel Hill-Carrboro schools

A dispute is playing out over books in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools libraries. Republican leaders say some books available to elementary students include themes of gender identity and sexuality that they say violate North Carolina’s Parents’ Bill of Rights. But school officials say they’re following state law.
