
Oil prices have shot up to about 100 dollars a barrel — roughly a 40% increase — since the war began in the middle east.
Gasoline prices in North Carolina are about 18% higher, according to Gas Buddy, a price comparison app.
The Trump Administration has responded to the increase by authorizing the Department of Energy to release 172 million barrels from the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve. It also lifted sanctions on Russian oil.
But one thing President Trump is NOT doing is emphasizing renewable energy.
Just last month, the Administration repealed the basis for greenhouse gas regulations.
