‘Bulking up’ can become an obsession for young men with body dysmorphia disorder

When it comes to eating disorders and body image, boys and men are often overlooked. Some, however, struggle with an obsession with gaining muscle and bulking up – often referred to as muscle dysmorphia.

Research shows nearly a third of teen boys in the U.S. report trying to gain weight … and about a quarter report taking supplements, steroids, or eating more.
