Former UNC post-doc wins prize for photographing things we can’t see

Photography usually captures the world we can see. Maik Bischoff photographs what we can’t.

The former UNC post-doc – a cell biologist – uses a microscope to combine art and science. He won an honorable mention in Nikon’s “Small World in Motion” competition earlier this month.
