Far away from New York City, the effects of Zohran Mamdani’s election are being felt in Chapel Hill

As Zohran Mamdani gets ready to take office as mayor of New York, his historic victory is being felt far beyond the city.  That includes here in North Carolina, where Muslim students and politicians say it was a watershed moment for them.
