New funding distribution leaves UNC student organizations with smaller budgets

Many student organizations at UNC have less money to spend this semester than they’ve had in previous years. But it’s not because of federal or state budget cuts. It’s because UNC has adopted new accounting methods for distributing the funds. The tighter budgets mean fewer resources for events, outreach, and student support.
