N.C. Senate votes to crackdown further on DEI in higher education

State senators debate a proposal to expand DEI restrictions in the UNC System and N.C. Community Colleges (Gowri Abhinanda / Carolina Connection)

A bill that further targets DEI in public universities passed the North Carolina Senate this week and now moves to the House. The bill would require universities’ boards, such as UNC’s, to ban diversity, equity and inclusion practices on campus.

Gowri Abhinanda has more from inside the General Assembly.
