Helene has now caused more than 100 deaths in North Carolina.  Thousands of people have had their homes washed away or flooded. A huge section of the state still has no electricity, clean water, or roads to drive on.

College students have been affected too, as several campuses were in Helene’s path.

For students at Appalachian State University in Boone, the disaster has canceled classes, and led to an uneasy feeling toward the future. W. H. Hayes reports.
