UNC System moves to ban YikYak and similar apps from campus networks

 

YikYak is an anonymous social media platform popular on college campuses across the nation. But UNC System President Peter Hans wants to ban it – and similar apps – from school WiFi networks.

Hans cites bullying on the platforms as the main reason behind the ban. Some students question whether the policy would be effective .. and whether it would violate their right to free speech.
