‘It’s 2024, not 1860’: Group petitions to change street named after slaveholder

A local organization is petitioning the Chapel Hill Town Council to rename one of the town’s most prominent roads: Cameron Avenue. The group wants to change the name to “Pauli Murray Avenue” as a way to eliminate racist street names.
