Altering a longstanding tradition, UNC’s graduation will be held on Saturday – not Sunday – this year

Spring commencement at UNC has traditionally been held on Mother’s Day on a Sunday morning. Last fall, former chancellor Kevin Guskiewicz and the UNC Special Events Office announced that the 2024 spring commencement would instead be held on Saturday evening.
