Mead, or honey wine, is making a resurgence in North Carolina

The first alcoholic drink wasn’t made of grain or grapes, but instead consisted of fermented honey. Mead was popular for centuries, but has since fallen out of fashion. Now, a growing group of brewers are trying to convince consumers that mead is the bee’s knees.

Henry Taylor visited a North Carolina meadery to see what they’ve got brewing.
