Chapel Hill is allowing new drive-throughs after previously discouraging them

For more than 20 years, the Town of Chapel Hill has discouraged restaurant drive-through lanes based on concerns about idling cars, air quality, and pedestrian safety. But now, the Dunkin’ Donuts on East Franklin Street will be adding a drive-thru to their business. That comes after the town allowed drive-throughs at Chick-fil-A and Starbucks.
