UNC System Office considers increasing funds for mental health resources

As Mental Health Awareness Month approaches in May, college campuses have become a hotspot for advocacy. In March, Governor Cooper proposed a billion-dollar investment to address the state’s mental health and substance use crises. And in February, the UNC System Office held its sixth annual Behavioral Health Convening, discussing potentially allocating recent funding for mental health response, prevention, and resiliency efforts for its campuses. This comes at a time of struggle for some students.
