Library science schools aren’t typically the place you find celebrities, but Tressie McMillan Cottom is a leading academic with a little bit of star power. She’s an associate professor at UNC’s School of Information and Library Science and a senior faculty researcher at the Center for Information, Technology, and Public Life.
