Students’ indifference to fire alarms concern Chapel Hill, UNC leaders

When a fire alarm sounds in a dorm, a lot of students assume it’s a drill and decide to stay put in their rooms.  But while the university does have a lot of practice drills – four in each building per year – many alarms are for real fires. And if students choose to snooze through them, they endanger their safety and that of firefighters.
